The new book soft launched today. I’ve been reading excerpts from Old Man in a Spacesuit for a few months at Wirral Writers. Now it’s done. Thanks to everyone for feedback and suggestions. In case you need a reminder, here’s what it’s all about:
Currently working on a couple of stories, pure sci-fi. Got to the stage I’m wondering where the hell I’m going with them, but they are growing in size, probably needs 3/4 of taken out and rewritten, but hey ho, not a lot else to do with Covid-19 lurking out there.
Find out more about me here https://www.paulgmann.net/
A few weeks ago I mentioned at one of our Wirral Writers’ Zoom meetings, how I’d been interviewed by John Goodwin for the Writers of the Future podcast. Well, that interview is now live and can be found here:

It’s number 72 in the list. Or instead you could listen to the one just above mine, Kevin J Anderson, who just happens to be one of my favourite writers. You’ll learn way more from him.
Hi all,
Will try this again. This is the 3rd post today, God knows where the other two went, out there in cyber land somewhere.
All this sitting around on my backside for 6 weeks has let me finish/edit 3 books, now published at https://www.smashwords.com/profile/view/PGM Just scroll down the page until you find the title you want.
Something I see all the time on social media – you complete your work of creativity, think it’s pretty good; worth submitting to someone, somewhere, only to receive a rejection notice days, weeks or months later.
Some people seem to crumble under this kind of response. There’s a continuous input of ‘I’m devastated’, or ‘I’m broken’ or ‘I’ll never write another word’. My response is always the same – keep writing. If you want to be a writer – then write, simple.
I joined Wirral Writers in September 2016 (I think, might have been a little earlier or later). Joining any new group can be a nervous experience and I was a little trepidatious as I tried an unmarked door. Thankfully it was the right place!
We were very lucky, and pleased, that we got Gee Willaims to judge this year’s entrants.
Gee Williams began her creative journey as a poet. She has had work published in a variety of places, including – The Pan Book of Horror and being broadcast by BBC Radio 4. She has won many book awards including The Book Pl@ce Contemporary Short Story Awards, Pure Gold Fiction Award 2008, and was short-listed for Wales Book of the Year 2009.
Hello writers,
Just a reminder that tonight will be our first night to try out a new venue. We will be meeting at The Bridge Inn, Port Sunlight Village, as a trial run for future meetings.
Many apologies for the tardiness of this post.
Wirral Writers is sad to announce the death of one of it’s members.
